Orlando RV

2110 Thousand Trails Blvd. / Clermont, FL 34714 / Lake County

June 1 – June 15th, 2019

Recently I placed my RV in storage at Thousands Trails Orlando to attend my daughters college graduation. When I returned I decided to remain at the resort for the next 2 weeks. I really enjoy this resort due to its location, amenities and very helpful and courtesy staff, especially Lucille at the reservations office.

Orlando RV is a large resort boasting 116 sites. It is first come first serve and most of the sites are back-in full service sites with 50 & 30amp. However at the back of the property (Northeast) there are two rows of side by side pull throughs. Like a lot of Thousand Trails or large commercial RV parks it resembles a parking lot but the sites are fairly wide so you will not be peering into your neighbors rig.

Due to my RV missing a front hydraulic jack I was in search of the levelest site possible. That was not a difficult task as most of the sites are near level but it will require a little tweaking to be completely level. A31 was a very level site located under a big Live Oak tree and boasted a large backyard, so that is where I decided to spend my time. The only negative is that I had to walk slightly up hill inside the of coach and when sleeping I had to double up on pillows as my head felt lower than my body. Since it was the summer months the resort was less than 50% full so on this stay I had a lot of options.

Orlando RV has great amenities! Scattered through out the resort are 8 bathhouses with very clean showers and 5 laundry facilities. If you are into activities Orlando features 2 swimming pools, a hot tub and wading pool for the little ones. They also have Duck Pin Bowling, shuffle board courts, a nice Mini Golf course, Tennis courts, exercise room and a playground. Inside the large Recreational Center is a lounge, restaurant, store and it is a great set up for entertaining and playing bingo. On Sunday’s they have two different speakers/pastors lead services.

One thing that I found unique about Orlando RV was that it is located on a private lake. I am not sure of the size of the lake but it is a good size with only 3 other properties on its banks. It also hosts a couple of gators that can be seen occasionally near the fishing pier. If fishing or kayaking is your thing the resort offer boats, kayaks and canoes free of charge. All you need is to sign them out at the camp store. I have also been told, but cannot confirm, that at night you can park at the fishing pier and watch the Disney fireworks.

If you find yourself in Orlando, Florida I would highly recommend this resort. Not only is it nice and the people friendly it is also close to all the major attractions such as Disney, Universal, Sea World and the rest. Currently the resort is under a major construction plan to add another 150 sites and a renovation of the recreation center, so you will have a lot of options to lose track of time.
